Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Dessert Hummus

April 7, 2011 by Monica Nelson Leave a Comment

Dessert Hummus

Say what?! Yes, I know, that is what I thought at first.  Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Hummus, yes that is correct. I have got to tell you, this is so unique and actually truly very tasty.  I am all for trying out new things and I have really been on a kick so far!  I made this in 5 mins and I am so serious when I say…I COULD NOT STOP EATING THIS!  The husband too. He had ate it too fast and too much so he lost his craving for it after awhile. At first, he said, “That sounds awful Moni” but you see, he kept an open mind and loved it.   😉

I can not take the credit on this recipe though.  I first saw it here  and here.  However, I made some slight changes and made it just right for me.  To me, the key is simply using maple syrup, salt, and nutritional yeast to give it cookie tough texture and taste. Also, anything with peanut butter, works for me- if I am being honest.

No effort.  Delicious. A good for you snack with good fats and fiber.  You can serve this with graham crackers like I do or even baby carrots would be a nice flavor exchange and crunch factor.  I also rolled some of the hummus into cookie dough balls as seen in the picture above. So the next time you want to wow your guest, have a healthier cookie dough snack, or try something new, you know what to make.   This is the recipe if you are craving gritty cookie dough flavors, Trust me!
