Spiced Hot White Chocolate

November 18, 2008 by Monica Nelson Leave a Comment

Please make this for the holidays, you won’t be disappointed. There is something about white hot chocolate, it can change your mood in so many ways…You must use the finest ingredients like fresh nutmeg and use TOP quality chocolate of course!   I usually make this first thing Christmas Morning. 😉

Makes 8 servings

3 cups 1% low-fat milk or soymilk/almond milk
1/8 tsp grated whole nutmeg
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 cup premium white chocolate chips (Ghirardelli works great)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup whipped topping thawed
grated whole nutmeg (optional)
grated chocolate on top (optional)

1. Combine milk, nutmeg, and cinnamon stick in a med. saucepan over medium heat; bring to a simmer, stirring constantly. Add white chocolate chips stirring until chips melt. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Discard cinnamon stick. Serve with whipped cream. Add chocolate shavings and sprinkle some nutmeg if desired.
